Abstract

Thirukkural education, which is the chief among the alms books, highlights the excellence of education and the value of the learned in the society in terms such as Kallam. The later education researchers have mentioned a lot about the ancient education system, about the student status, and about the trends of educational development.        There is no definite evidence that thousands of educational institutions existed in ancient times like the ones we have today. Education is a necessity of all times, for every individual and social concept. This research paper describes the status (nature) of the education of students in the ancient society.
