Abstract

The Tamil language has a very long literary and grammatical history. Among the grammatical and linguistic texts available to us in the world's languages ​​to this day, the Tolkappiyam is the oldest in terms of time and the most complete in terms of content. This book is the first complete grammar book available in Tamil. The commentators who wrote the Tolkappiyar treatise, although they were much later than the Tolkappiyar period, have written the treatise with understanding of the Tolkappiyar texts. However, in some places in the Tolkappiya texts, there are differences in the lyrics and textual differences between the authors. Nachinarkiniyar, who primarily uses the text of Ilampuranar, While comparing the text, Nachinarkiniyar has dealt with some differences in the texts mentioned by Ilampuranar. Thus, in four places in the Vetchi Thinai texts in the Purathinaiyiyal of the Tolkappiyam, There is a difference in tone. This article examines the differences in tone and the textual differences that arise from them.
