The ancient Tamils, who lived as the first material of ‘land’ and ‘diurnal periods’ named their places of residence according to the geography of the land. Mountain -based living lands are called 'Naadu (for Ex. Malai Nadu); forest -based mullah lands are called as, ‘Kaanagam’, 'Pattikkadu', 'Chembulam' (clay-based land); Agri-based living lands are called 'Puram', ‘Uurr’ (which is why the people who lived there were called as Uran and Kizhavan); and the sea side living lands were called ‘Pakkam’ and ‘Pattinam’. Similarly, the places where the troops stayed and fought were known as Paadivedu, Padaivedu and Paasarai. All these names help us to understand the geography and history of the people. Sambuvaraya’s who have set up a Separate kingdoms in the Middle Ages of Tamil Nadu who have been the head of the Chola kingdom as the head of the land. The purpose of this article is to introduce information found in places such as the inscriptions found in them.
