Marriage rituals are common to many peoples of the world. A husband and wife are the basis for the formation of a family. These are compatible with the marriage system. Those who have a marriage system became husband and wife through the marriage ceremony. The marriage rituals of the Tamils changed from a natural system to a divine system. The marriage rituals of the Tamils can be divided into Sangam period marriage rituals and marriage rituals that occurred after the arrival of the Aryans. Sangam period marriage rituals are unique to the Tamils.
