Abstract

The life values that Valluvar preaches are related to society for men and to maintaining the home for women. The path of life shown by Valluvar is that a woman should be submissive and a man should not be afraid. Those who act according to their wife’s wishes will not achieve the benefits of life. It Is a great shame. It is embarrassing to go among good people. There is no afterlife. There is no victory.  A woman who is more modest than a boy is better at listening to her. He criticizes her for being foolish and listening to her. Women always list the basics of living dependent on men. The virtues for women are not defined by women. The woman fears social exclusion from this morality set by men and eventually becomes accustomed to it and tries to live by it. In the Thirukkural, amidst the songs that expound on moral principles, it attempts to point out and explain songs that insist on female chastity and the ideology that the husband is like God.

Key words: Thirukkural, virtue, stupidity, shyness, patriarchy, modesty, Slavery and moral principles.
