Abstract

Gandharvan was a great progressive thinker. He has reflected the problems he encountered in his life and the practical problems he experienced in his works. Through his works we can understand today's society as it is. He can also be called the mentor of young artists. He has created a style for himself.Although Gandharvan's achievements were great, he was a vibrant young man who wanted to achieve more.Gandharvan was born in a village called Sikal in Mudukulathur circle of Ramanathapuram district. His birth name Nagalingam was initially a civil servant and worked as an officer in the treasury department. He became the leader. After being a trade union leader for many years, Kannadasan first started writing for a newspaper in 1969.Early on he made his debut as a poet and also emerged as a short story writer.As a trade union leader, he saw the labor issues first-hand. Sundharvan therefore in his works the condition of labor is manifested in many places. Also heavily influenced by Marxism are the struggles of the trade union movement in his works. Political movements and people's travails have come to the fore.He had the idea of ​​facing anything according to life and was influential among various progressive democratic movements.
