Abstract

Women’s participation in political and social movements is a significant change in contemporary history. Especially during the Sri Lankan civil war when Tamil  women engaged in armed struggle, which attracted globel attention. Novels such as Aayudha Ezhuthu, Bayangaravaathi, ummat, confirm that women were given a separate unit in the LTTE and that they directly participated in the war. Novels like this make the history of female fighters unique. This research article   examines the emergence of female fighters, the reson for their role as fighters and the post-war situation.
