Abstract

Language is a system of sounds, words, and symbols used to convey ideas and facilitate communication. Media, as a powerful channel, disseminates information and shapes public opinion across large audiences. The use of Tamil in various media platforms exhibits multiple levels of expression, with each medium developing its own distinctive linguistic style.This study explores the role of Tamil in media development, examining how the language is represented, communicated, and preserved across different platforms. Media not only reflect political, socio-economic, artistic, and literary needs but also integrate cultural and historical contexts while serving commercial and advertising purposes.The research aims to investigate how Tamil is employed in media, how its usage is expressed and promoted, and how media can contribute to preserving and propagating the language among audiences, including those who are less familiar with it.
